Agilent Technologies Inc.has announced the Agilent E5810B LAN/GPIB/USB gateway, the next-generation replacement for the E5810A with added USB capability. The new gateway allows users to connect and control, over a standard local-area network, up to 14 GPIB instruments, up to four USB instruments via a self-powered hub, and an RS-232 instrument.
With the gateway's improved GPIB transfer rate of 1.2 MB/s, engineers can reduce test time and improve production. The E5810B supports 1000BASE-T (1 Gigabit) LAN/Ethernet as well as 100BASE-TX and 10BASE-T to meet the demands of higher network bandwidth. Designed for ease of use, the E5810B comes with a built-in LCD display, allowing users to check the IP address of the gateway for quick setup. Users can easily configure the gateway via a password-protected Web interface. The E5810B allows multiple users in different locations to access a centrally located test system. Connecting a wireless router to the E5810B enables engineers to wirelessly control instruments from a PC where LAN connection is unavailable or inconvenient.
"With this fast, efficient one-box connectivity solution, engineers can effortlessly control a broad range of instruments simultaneously over standard LANs," said Ee Huei Sin, vice president, Agilent's Basic Instruments Division. "The E5810B's versatility makes it ideal for system integrations, shared test systems in R&D, design verification and manufacturing environments."

The MGate 5102-PBM-PN gateway provides a communication portal between PROFIBUS devices (e.g., PROFIBUS PLC or drive) and the PROFINET host. All models are protected with a rugged metallic casing, are DIN rail mountable, and offer optional built-in optical isolation. The PROFIBUS and Ethernet status LED indicators are provided for easy maintenance. The rugged design is suitable for industrial applications such as oil & gas, power, process automation, and factory automation.
The EDS-405A/408A-PN are 5 and 8-port managed Ethernet switches with PROFINET enabled. With embedded PROFINET, the PN switches can be easily integrated into the Simatic Step 7 engineering tool. It is more convenient for automation engineers to configure through Step 7 and monitor with automation HMIs. The EDS-405A/408A-PN switches with fast booting, Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain fast-recovery technology, can optimize PROFINET network performance. Moxa’s PROFINET switches also support a variety of useful management functions, such as IGMP snooping, IEEE 802.1Q VLAN, QoS, port mirroring, SNMP, bandwidth management, and warning by email or relay.
The EDR-810 is a highly integrated industrial multiport secure router with Firewall/NAT/VPN and managed Layer 2 switch functions. It is designed for Ethernet security applications in sensitive remote control or monitoring networks, and provides an electronic security perimeter for the protection of critical cyber assets such as pumping/treatment systems in water stations, DCS systems in oil and gas applications, and PLC/SCADA systems in factory automation. The EDS-810 series includes the following features:
The MGate 5101-PBM-MN gateway provides a communication portal between PROFIBUS devices (e.g. PROFIBUS drives or instruments) and Modbus TCP hosts. All models are protected with a rugged metallic casing, DIN-rail mountable, and offer optional built-in optical isolation. The PROFIBUS and Ethernet status LED indicators are provided for easy maintenance.
